Easy Homemade Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
Perfect way to use up ripe bananas for a homemade bake for a special breakfast or even a yummy dessert.

- 2 very ripe bananas mashed
- 2 eggs
- 1 stick unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups AP flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract *See notes
Add Ins
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips *minis
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Peel bananas and mash them with a fork in a small bowl. Crack both eggs into the same bowl then add extract and stir together.
In a medium bowl cream together softened butter and sugar until smooth.
Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt to butter and sugar mixture.
Mix in banana mixture to the rest of the ingredients in the medium bowl.
Gently fold in any add-ins to your banana bread batter.
Prepare bread loaf pan by greasing it or lining with parchment paper.
Pour batter into prepared dish.
Bake for 45-40 minutes or until golden brown.

*Use whatever add ins make you and your family happy. My husband and I prefer the mini dark chocolate chips over using traditional nuts like pecans or walnuts. But you could use both chocolate and nuts! Or chocolate chips and peanut butter chips. Maybe try dried fruit, the options are endless!
*In the pictures I used regular dark chocolate chips because that is what I had on hand, but we do prefer to use mini dark chocolate chips as they tend to not sink to the bottom like the regular size ones tend to do.
*We prefer to use almond extract over vanilla extract in almost all baking recipes and this recipe is no different. But feel free to use one or the other, or a combination of both or get creative here too!
